Training

(Please Note COVID-19 Travel & Social Distancing Restrictions may apply)

I come out to work with your equine to address problem behaviour, help them overcome a fear or to start them off with their training. I like the owner/ handler to be involved in the training as much as possible, so a prerequisite to any training is that you will be available for coaching sessions (charged separately) during and after the training for a complete handover so you to have the skills to takeover and continue.

I offer continued check-in’s and training support through in-person or online coaching once your equine has gone home.

Private Training

Tailored training for your horse at your yard/ on location. The owner/ handler is always encouraged to attend and observe if possible. You are welcome to invite a friend to watch, but please note additional auditors are chargeable and payable at the start of the session.

It must be possible to safely practice social distancing at the venue.

Training Livery

Limited places available for positive reinforcement/ clicker training focused training livery at my yard. Suitable for equines that need daily handling in a force free horsemanship, pro-positive reinforcement environment with the equine’s emotional and physical welfare put first. With previous experience in managing a yard of 27 rescued equines, your equine’s health and welfare will be my top priority.

As I aim to work at the equine’s pace towards your goal rather than follow a set #day training period, there is a minimum stay of one month, after which your equine’s progress will be assessed on a weekly basis and you and I will then decide if further stay is required. Throughout the training, weekly goals will be determined and I shall update on your equine’s progress.

Please note that some horses take time to settle into a new herd and environment.

Suitable for unhandled horses, equines which need remedial training to resolve a longstanding issue* or those who have acquired a fear which will benefit from daily handing from a professional. Preparation for the farrier/ veterinary procedures included.

*all equines need to have first been checked by a suitably qualified equine vet or relevant specialist to rule out possible underlying medical/physical issues or pain.

Livery includes:

  • 365/24/7 turnout with my own company in a force free environment
  • Twice daily checks
  • Summer: grass track, shade and hedge shelter
  • Winter: 3.8acre strip grazed or open field as required, including hay
  • Access to a stable* on the yard when needed
  • Secure storage space available for tack and feed
  • Small sand arena
  • Quiet lane for walking out
  • Experienced livery yard owner
  • Join our worming program (FEC and wormer costs covered by the owner)

*occasional use at no additional charge

Training includes:

  • Bespoke behaviour modification plan, updated weekly
  • Tailored handling/ training session 5 days a week
  • Catching & holding for vet/ farrier/ your equine professional
  • Daily updates and pictures or video

As with private training on site, I ask that there is a prerequisite for you, the owner/handler, to be available for coaching during your equine’s stay, plus coaching through a full handover at the end of your equine’s stay.

Please contact me for further details and a bespoke quotation.
